Choose the Right Career

How to Choose the Right Career

Have you ever stopped to wonder whether you’re choosing the right career path?

Yes, I know you have and you’re not the only one – All of us have been there at one point in our lives, while some are born knowing who they are and what mission they are here to accomplish.

A 2020 Deloitte survey found that 31% of millennials and about 50% of those from Generation Z are planning to leave their jobs within two years with a desire to choosing the right career oath for them mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

This statistic shows how rocky the younger generation’s psyche is towards snatching a stable and fulfilling job. There is a paradigm shift happening, where people are choosing the right career path for them instead of what they “should” do for job security. Therefore, many people are learning how to choose the right career for them.

Let’s look at the in choosing the right career path alternative – we stick with the mundane job that doesn’t make us happy, but still pays the bills, or we leave everything in the search of something better? Nobody desires that- in fact those that chose that are now miserable, feeling unfilled.

Let’s find out how to choose the right career path, so this does not occur.

Let’s first look at how a person struggles with choosing the right career path

You are not the only one that struggles with understanding how to choose the right career path, so forgive yourself for not knowing everything.

The social factor in this case plays the biggest role. A lot of young people tend to rush into sudden decisions regarding their career choices. There is a lot of social pressure to “be successful” and preconceived notions of how to do that. Some are fairly outdated with very much a self sacrificing component to it. You no longer have to sacrifice yourself to be able to make a living. You are allowed to have balance in your life and do the things that you love.

The other thing to consider is that there are a lot expectations from the social and family circles in choosing the right career path. You have to find a paying job and you have to like it, there is no other way you can succeed. Also, a lot of people succumb to the stress of other families ideas of how to choose the right career path.

Alternatively, there is always the chance that you just want to make easy money with less work, which, has to be structured. And while it is an old paradigm that you have to work hard to make money- there is an element of personal growth and development that is necessary to have it be that way.

So, let’s look at some possible tips for changing all of this and helping you in how to choose the right career path.

Let’s go back to high school

Remember when in high school the guidance counselor gave you a career personality test. This personality test evaluates what your skills are, what your innate tools are, and what aspects of your personality works with- if you are more logical and mathematical engineering may be better suited. If you are more creative and free thinking something in the creative arts make work well. If you are more of a helper and caregiver, healthcare may work best.

Tests that calculate the ideal job for you can establish the working ground for your potential profession to be, and can give you perspective.

There are some pretty spot-on tests and quizzes online that can get you focused on a certain qualification that matches your personality and good traits.

While we’re on the subject of personality traits, let’s talk about…

Making a list, and checking it twice!

It really does help to write down the thing you want out of your dream job when choosing the right career path. It doesn’t even have to ideally be your dream job, but the one you feel you will be good at.

The list may include things you are good at, things you are bad at, things you want to do as a hobby, and things you want to work. Things you enjoy, etc.

It could even include traits that you have that are suitable for different companies. That way you will arrange your strong sides when you need to point them out to the person that will interview you. Or if you choose the self employed path it will show you the positions or traits you will need to hire for to assist you in your company.

Do not underestimate the power of making a list, because we usually tend to undermine the process of carefully sorting out all these personality traits. This provides lots of clarity and intention for choosing the right career path.

Always be in touch with the times

It’s important to know what is out there, as well as what job pays how much, but more importantly current trends. At the time that I write this internet marketing, online coaching, and various work from home opportunities are readily available. This is definitely a different paradigm than the past before COVID.

We are beginning to be more into energetic paradigms. Doing what you love rather than things that you tolerate.

Meet new people and don’t be afraid to ask for advice, insight, or what they used to understand how to choose the right career path for them.

The connections that you make with a diverse crowd will form a steady know-how approach to the job you want as well as will help in choosing the right career path.

Never stop trying new things all of the time

It is thought and sometimes it gets even harder as you face yourself and your limiting beliefs, but you should never fall under the pressure of caving in, betray yourself, and do something that you do not love. Even if you have to choose a job while you are preparing for your dream job, resolve that it is merely a stepping stone for you.

Never stop trying to reach your goals and always ask yourself why you are doing what you’re doing.

You need to be very aware of the goals you want to achieve and what you’re willing to give to reach them.

Journal about your limiting beliefs around doing what you love, consider attachments to your self worth, being able to have more, have all, etc.

Final Thoughts

Finding the right career path isn’t really easy – It takes a lot of trial and error, going through different positions, meeting different people and being in different communities.

At the end of the day, you should answer questions for yourself:

  1. What is it that I’m really good at and know a lot about?
  2. What is it that I’d really enjoy doing for a big part of my life?
  3. What are you willing to do?
  4. What are you not willing to do?
  5. What are traits that you possess naturally?
  6. What impact do you want to have on the world?
  7. What is your long-term vision?

These are the core questions that can take you a step closer to choosing the right career path for you

communication skills

Top 3 Tips to Improve Communication Skills for Any Negotiation

Successful negotiation includes more than verbal communication. But the better you master the following communication skills tips, the higher the chances are that you will succeed.

Whether you are negotiating for a vast business upgrade with influential stakeholders or just a place where you’ll eat with your partner, the following communication skills tips will get you what you want!

#1. Be Clear With BATNA (and WATNA)

Let’s start with the negotiation theory – BATNA, which is one of the tips to improve communication skills. It stands for Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement. In simple words, BATNA is your safe bet, what you expect to get if the negotiations fail. WATNA stands for Worst Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement.

Your best communication skills tips include clearly defining BATNA. If you start negotiations without knowing your BATNA, you are at high risk of going blindly into the negotiation process. We can take the salary negotiations for example.

Let’s say you are negotiating a salary for a new job, and you would like a salary of $6.000 per month. But, ask yourself what you would accept instead? It might be a salary of $5.000 with a 20% bonus twice per year. That is your BATNA.

If the job interview is your only option and you need money ASAP, your WATNA is getting without it. If you reveal it to the interviewer, it can offer you a lower salary knowing that you cannot afford to say no.

Keep BATNA and WATNA on your mind to direct the conversation, as one of the tips to improve communication skills,  as it suits you the most, but never reveal them to your interviewer. It helps you communicate without pressure, which gives you more chances for success.

#2 Reveal the Emotions

If you can control your emotions and utilize them during communication, emotions are a winning tool. In the next communication skills tips we will examine the role of emotions.

Before we go deeper into the emotion-related tactic, remember one thing – No fake emotions. Don’t pretend that you care about things you don’t care about, as most people will see right through you. Instead, be natural, let the emotions poke through your communication, and focus on expressing positive emotions. Those can include enthusiasm, excitement, happiness, etc.

Verbalizing your emotions is one of the tips to improve communication skills. For example, clearly saying I am excited to close this deal finally leaves no option for the confusion! The other side won’t mistake your excitement for anxiety which can leave the wrong effect. Anxiety can make you look like a desperate person or too pushy, which gives leverage to the opposite side.

Sharing and verbalizing positive emotions helps you build trust, a solution to successful negotiations.

Anger is one of the fascinating emotions you can use in negotiations. Fake anger will let the other side believe you don’t care enough about the outcome, which will result in an unyielding approach.

If you express your anger because the deal isn’t closing, you’ll leave the impression that you are serious about your offer. As one of the communication skills tips, clearly and assertively, without powerful words that indicate negative emotions, such as hate, bad, damage, failure, misery, etc.

#3 Allow People to Gain Back control

The next tactic has a stronghold in psychology more than any other. The premise is that all people like to be in control. You have probably noticed that most people prefer the option they suggested. Not only does it reveal their preferences, but it also gives them the feeling of control and freedom.

The switching control tactic is one of the communication skills tips to provide something good negotiators practice.

You may insist and push the person into taking your offer, which will be counterproductive. Or, you can retreat and develop an atmosphere in which the person can decide freely on their own powerfully.

Before the retreat, you need to describe your attitude clearly. That way, the person you are negotiating with has something to analyze. Adding the subtle effect of urgency raises your chances.

Use a magic line that instantly opens all doors – but you are free to do as you decide as one of the tips to improve communication skills.

For example, if you are negotiating the price for a second-hand chair, say I can pay a maximum of $50 right now, but you’re free to ask for other offers.

Then, let the seller think about your offer and get back to you. Sometimes, the illusion of control overpowers the agreement essence, so people will sign up for almost anything as long as they feel in charge.

Final Words

Building trust is the key to successful negotiation. You can achieve that by clearly expressing your genuine emotions and not pushing the person too hard to make a decision as one of the communication skills tips.

Also, because most negotiations in everyday life come in long-term relations with people around you, trust is your long-term, effective tool to have it your way!

But, never reveal your BATNA, and use it for hidden leverage!

Have you tried any of the tactics from the list? Were they successful? I would like to know if these communication skills tips have been effective for you.

Part of communication is not just speaking, but of being fully present with the other person to fully understand what matters most to them. When you fully understand what matters most to them then you are able to communicate and express from that place. The practice of validation is so powerful and allows for a person to not only feel seen, but heard as well. Many people do not feel heard or fully seen. Fully seeing, embracing, and hearing people can help them to feel liberated and fully at peace. This has been a gift of mine for a long time. Often people come into the practice and are surprised they are fully heard and seen so clearly. hypnosis for success

6 Steps To Setting Goals for Hypnosis for Success

Summary:

Follow these six steps and use them with the power of hypnosis for success and you will be catapulted towards your goal faster than you can imagine.

Many people think of life as an obstacle course full of hurdles and ditches that need to be navigated successfully in order to be happy. In many ways they are right. Hypnosis for self improvement can be used to increase one’s ability to achieve success.

If you are a very goal-orientated person then it is inevitable that you will encounter obstacles on your way to achievement and success. The bigger the goal the more setbacks there seem to be which makes setting goals for success necessary. These obstacles and setbacks can act as tests. They test your character and your resolve. Each barrier that is overcome and each challenge that is met head-on develops your character, and belief in yourself and strengthens your resolve to succeed no matter what. Hypnosis for success can be a helpful tool in the process.

However, when the same obstacles keep showing up over and over again and failure seems to be a common occurrence it’s time to re-evaluate your approach to your goals. Hypnosis for self improvement can be used to specifically work through areas where one is stuck.  These recurring problems are an indication of your inability to learn from the temporary failures you are experiencing. The conscious mind is obviously having trouble analyzing the reasons behind the failures and keeps making the same mistakes, which can make setting goals for success a key to overcoming the same mistakes.

At this point, some outside help is needed, which is where hypnosis for success comes in handy. Obviously, you are unable to consciously work through the trouble you are having, and it must be a subconscious block that is preventing you from learning your lesson and moving forward. In such situations, hypnosis for self improvement and self-hypnosis can be of immense value. Either Hypnosis or Self Hypnosis can most definitely be used successfully and effectively to get to the root of the problem and eliminate it forever.

One extremely powerful benefit of using hypnosis for success is the ability to train your mind to stay focused on the successful attainment of your goal. You can program a specific outcome for setting goals for success and retain the ability to consciously divert your attention to it in a positive, success-affirming manner. You can also eliminate self-sabotage and remove the negative feelings and thoughts that are blocking your path to success by using hypnosis for self improvement.

Here are some tips for using hypnosis for success as a goal achievement tool.

  1. Visualize. Program yourself with your desired outcome. While under the influence of self-hypnosis visually imagine that your goal is already accomplished, and your objective has been reached. See it as real. See it through your own eyes and experience all the wonderful feelings associated with that goal attainment. This is one of the techniques used when setting goals using hypnosis for success.
  2. Persistence. Get down into your subconscious mind and change your inner character traits to match those people who NEVER give up. Program your subconscious mind to be persistent in using hypnosis for self improvement regardless of what is going on in any given situation. Posthypnotic suggestions to develop an iron will and persistent approach to your goals will be invaluable in times of stress and disillusionment.
  3. Think Positive. Learn to think positively. The subconscious mind has a tendency to replay past memories and throw them back into consciousness in the form of doubts and fears. Through the use of self-hypnosis, you can totally eliminate them. Program your subconscious mind to think positively and expect positive results as you use self hypnosis for success.
  4. Program out the Problem. Inevitably some problems will arise when you pursue worthwhile goals. Through hypnosis, you can solve these problems fairly rapidly. While in trance see yourself successfully traversing the obstacle. You don’t have to see how you did it, just see yourself on the other side, relieved, happy and proud that you “figured it out” and reached the other side. If this, in itself, is a problem for you, or you find it hard to do then seek the advice of a qualified hypnotherapist. A competent hypnotherapist trained in hypnosis for self improvement will find the root of your problem probably in the first consultation and help outline how you can begin setting goals for success.
  5. Pre-pave your path. Imagine yourself meeting the right people and being in the right place at the right time. Program your mind like this, through the power of hypnosis for success, and your subconscious mind will pick up on non-verbal clues, process the millions of bits of information you receive every second and guide you to the right course of action.
  6. Develop faith. Use hypnosis to convince the subconscious mind that your goal is already a reality. “Fake it till you make it”. Fool your subconscious mind using hypnosis for self improvement into believing the “real” world is actually exactly like the world you have been visualizing. In the deeply relaxed state that hypnosis offers you can get fully involved in your mental image. Really feel how great it is to have already accomplished all those things you wanted for so long. Enjoy the fact that you are enjoying the benefits of having reached that goal.

Follow these six steps and use them with the power of hypnosis and you will be catapulted towards your goal faster than you can imagine.

Subconscious Thoughts That Hijack Change

A Brief History of Hypnosis Part 1 (1734 – 1947)

Success Story

body language in communication

The Importance of Body Language in Communication

We all know that words are not the only form of communication we use, in fact, they account for around 30% of all the information in any given discourse. We use body language in communication as well.

Understanding one another often happens thanks to a nod, a smile, or even just a look, and that makes complete sense when you think of our subconscious and how big of a role it actually plays in our lives and in the importance of body language in communication.

Body language in communication is incredibly useful because it shows what we are subconsciously feeling and thinking, this is exactly why most of us can innately “read” its basic forms.

This does not mean however that body language in communication is easy to understand or that everyone has a profound understanding of it.

And even if you do, it’s still incredibly interesting – this is why we are explaining it briefly in the following lines.

  • Definition And Where It Comes From

Body language in communication is a form of non-verbal communications gestures, facial expressions, posture, eye and hand movements,s, etc.

The importance of body language in communication can be voluntary (purposely mirroring body position, fake-smiling, etc.) and involuntary (keeping your focus on a certain point, fidgeting to show a lack of interest or nervousness, etc.), however differentiating between the two can be difficult, especially if the person opposite you is good at micromanaging themselves.

Historically speaking, body language has been around since before we could form words – firstly because it happens on a level which we have no control over, and secondly because we used to use it as a way to communicate with animals (think of making certain animals afraid of us while turning others into our companions).

Most scientists agree that it happens on a biological level and a good proof of that is researching people that were born blind and the fact that they still smile or frown in the same way we do.

This type of research eliminates the cultural aspect as a form of learning and leaves only genetic instincts as a source for body language.

  • Body Language In The World Today

In more recent times, the importance of body language in communication is necessary in these fast-paced times.

As we use more and more non-direct forms of communication (phone calls, messages, social media, etc.) we get more disconnected from this form of expression – a phenomenon that has caused a lot of younger people to have trouble both understanding their own body language and that of their companions.

However, this does not mean that its importance is diminished or that we should try to avoid it. In fact, this is why body language in communication is so important to maintain a connection with all aspects of communication as a means to relate to other people.

In fact, the more we can understand our modern body language, the better conclusions we can draw about ourselves and our feelings in the world.

A newly learned bonus of reading about the importance of body language in communication also comes in jobs connected to reading people.

Our deeper understanding of it in spheres connected with people is a huge help – think of interviewers and people working in the FBI as well as sellers of pretty much anything.

Interesting Examples

  1. Crossing arms in front of the chest –  this means that the person is closing off from the conversation and doesn’t want to share
  2. Talking with your hands open and palms pointing up – means that the person is being honest and telling the truth
  3. Slightly tilting your head to the side – this shows interest in the conversation
  4.  Smiling with eyes wrinkling – this is a genuine smile, it shows interest, emotion, and overall positivity
  5. Copying body language – this usually happens involuntarily and if that’s the case is a good sign, it shows agreement and warm feelings towards the other person
  6. Leaning in and keeping eye contact – shows honest interest and possible desire for a deeper connection

Body language is something we all experience on a daily basis and yet still don’t understand completely but there is great importance in body language in communication as a means to read the room and other people.

This proves both how complicated we actually are and how much we rely on our subconscious. Relying on our subconscious mind can be a catch twenty-two as if someone has had bad experiences in the past one could potentially misread the body language.

Learning how to read body language is incredibly valuable because it helps us in communicating better both with others and within ourselves. It helps us to connect with deep aspects of ourselves.

It also provides insight into what the other person is actually thinking – some people even say it’s as close as we’re gonna get to mind-reading, a superpower most people have dreamed of.

With all that in mind we doubt anyone would disagree when we say that body language is not only useful from a biological point of view, it is also incredibly interesting and provides insight into crucial moments of everyday life.

In a quantitative study examining the use of body language in healthcare, it was observed that sound expressions emphasized laughter, and eye contact with members stood out in visual expressions in rapport building as examples. The healthcare team examined established rapport with patients in clarifying their needs and planning care by using body language to affirm the patient.

It is observed that nonverbal communication is important in the healthcare setting which can impact patient outcomes. Eye contact for an instance was shown to improve patient satisfaction. The key to patient compliance as well as patient support involves both non-verbal as well as verbal communication.

Communication: A key to forgiveness

Self discipline

How to Master Self Discipline

Self discipline is a powerful attribute to have, yet challenging to obtain, however, there are many ways to master self discipline with a little time, patience, and effort on your part.

Self discipline is the ability to do whatever it takes to overcome obstacles and reach your goals, even when it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable. It may involve saying: “no” to things you want or saying: “yes” to things you hate, but with the power of self-discipline, it becomes easier to stand up for yourself. As you learn to master self discipline you become present and aware of your authentic truth, and therefore it makes it easier to set those boundaries.

Most individuals would love to master self discipline, yet very few people actually take action to acquire it.

Perhaps you start your day with good intentions, but veer off as the day progresses due to challenging issues, stresses, or distractions. Thankfully, there are some strategies you can incorporate into your daily life so you can become a master of self discipline and stay on task

Follow these techniques to strengthen and master self discipline:

  • Be committed to the cause. Are you truly unhappy being undisciplined? Is this something that you’re committed to improving? Many times people claim they want to be more self discipline, but the truth is, they honestly don’t mind being the way they are.
  • Be honest with yourself. If this is something that you definitely want to improve in your life, it may take a bit of time and effort, but it can be done.
  • The only way you’ll succeed is by staying committed to the cause.
  • Write it down. The process of writing your ideas and goals helps you clarify the thoughts in your mind so you can come up with an action plan that you can stick to.
  • Write down all the areas that you wish to improve – your finances, relationships, career, or anything in between. Include what changes you would like to see and how you believe will be the best way to make it happen.
  • I tend to write down and reevaluate every day. I focus on my goals, the things I have to accomplish and the things I have yet to accomplish. I start the day and end my day focused on my goals, and the actions that I must take to complete those goals.
  • Enlist the help of others. It’s absolutely wonderful that you’ve committed to make a positive change in your life by becoming a master of self discipline, but don’t keep it under wraps. Tell others that you want to make a change and boost your self discipline.
  • Don’t be ashamed that you didn’t  master self discipline from the beginning. The important thing is that you’re now taking positive action! Those who love you will be there to support you and help you celebrate your successes.
  • Your support group can also help you get through the bad days and put you back on track to achieve your goals. I tend to keep people around me who support my goals, and encourage as well as motivate me to accomplish my goals.
  • Believe in yourself. Have faith in yourself and know that if you can master self discipline, you can do anything! There will be both good and bad days, but as long as you remain focused and committed, you’ll be successful in strengthening your self discipline.
  • Remember to focus on the big picture and concentrate on how your body, mind, and energy will change for the better when you stay committed.
  • Don’t wait for the approval of others or the opinion of others. Not everyone is going to see your vision, feel your desires, or acknowledge your truth. Take time to be still and be quiet. This will allow you to be free from other people’s opinions. If you continue to listen to everyone’s feedback it will drown out your own voice, which will confuse you in the process.

Many people admire those who are self disciplined. These people can stay on a schedule and never seem to lose focus on what they need to accomplish. They make more wise decisions, take action when they need to, and achieve their goals with relative ease.

Implement these strategies into your daily life and they’ll soon become habits. Self discipline can become your way of life – if you want it all it takes is time, focus, and attention. But with a little perseverance and focus you can master self discipline, if you need help or accountability in the process of self discipline please reach out for a consultation.
