The normal flora of microorganisms (such as bacteria and fungi) that live naturally in our body, called the human microbiome, can be disrupted by a variety of causes including a poor diet, medication, and stress. This disruption causes inflammation and malabsorption — which in turn leads to a variety of health problems.

Gut dysbiosis, often referred to as gut imbalances and microbiome imbalances, is a term used to describe an unhealthy relationship between the bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and other endogenous flora. A healthy balance of gut bacteria is necessary for proper immune functioning, digestive health and overall vitality.
