Milk Sensitivities

Milk Sensitivities

Some people have a hard time digesting lactose, which is the sugar found in milk and other dairy products. Lactose intolerance means that your body doesn’t make enough of an enzyme called lactase to break down the sugars in milk. This can cause symptoms like bloating, gas and nausea that usually start 30 minutes to two hours after you have something containing lactose.

Dairy is a controversial food, with many people able to tolerate it without any problems. But a significant proportion of the population are sensitive to dairy products, causing a wide range of symptoms. This book discusses the various health issues concerning dairy products and offers advice on how to eliminate them from your diet if necessary.
